The Florida School Plant Management Association
(F.S.P.M.A) is dedicated to the exchange of information and ideas
among school districts, community colleges and universities for the
purpose of improving school plant management, maintenance and care
through the promotion of acceptable policies, standards and
practices; and to promote the professional advancement of school
plant management personnel.
Membership includes maintenance, custodial, grounds, safety and
environmental staff and supervisors, and other facility related
school professionals as well as related industry representatives.
The Florida School Plant Management Association offers members a
chance to share and learn with colleagues from other districts, and
hear presentations from some of the finest practitioners in the
country through affordable events such as district work shops and an
annual conference.
The annual conference features seminar speakers
on various topics including custodial care, environmental issues,
hazardous materials, heating and cooling, energy management, safety,
landscaping, and staff motivation. In addition to the
workshops, there is an expo with over 80 vendor booths.
In addition to the annual conference, the association hosts one-day
district workshops on topics such as building codes, energy
management, safety, grounds, maintenance, and custodial services at
convenient and accessible locations throughout the state.
